ADDLESHAW GODDARD LLP IS NOW INVITING CURRENT SIXTH FORM, S5 AND S6 STUDENTS TO APPLY TO LEGAL ACCESS WEEK RUNNING 31 JULY - 4 AUGUST, A HYBRID PROGRAMME TO HELP DEVELOP THE SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO PURSUE A CAREER IN THE LEGAL SECTOR.

WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION CRITERIA?

This opportunity is designed to support young people from less privileged backgrounds. As such, students must meet the following criteria:

• You must either be in year 12 or year 13 in England or S5 or S6 in Scotland in the 2022/2023 academic year.
• You're attending, and have attended from aged 11, a state-funded, non-fee-paying school/college.
• You must be within travelling distance of an Addleshaw Goddard offices in either Manchester, Leeds, London or Edinburgh.

And one of the following:

• You grew up in a household where no parent or guardian attended University.
• You are currently in receipt of, or have previously received, free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance and/or 16 to 19 Bursary.
• You have been, or are currently, in local authority care (for a period of 3 months or longer).
• You are, or have been, a full-time or part-time carer.
• You came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker.

WHAT IS LEGAL ACCESS WEEK?

• A hybrid work experience opportunity offering insight into a future career at a commercial law firm.
• The programme is running 31st July to 4th August 2023. The Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the week will be hosted in one of AG's offices, and the Tuesday and Thursday will be hosted virtually on Microsoft Teams.
• The week will include hands on work experience, team work, and the chance to network with colleagues across AG.
• You'll learn more about the different routes into the legal profession and tips on how to apply for opportunities.
• There will also be skills-based workshops on topics including interview technique, commercial awareness, and innovation and legal technology.

HOW DO I APPLY?

• Please register as a new user and submit your application by the deadline below.
• Each of the questions has a 2000 character limit as standard.
• Competition is high so we would recommend taking care with your application. Please ensure you have proof read your answers before submitting.
