Conflicts Analyst
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
• Due to the growth of the firm and an everchanging regulatory environment, we are looking for a pro-active, customer service focussed individual, with a keen eye for detail, to join our Conflicts team.
• As an Analyst in the Conflicts team, you will ensure that the Firm complies with its regulatory obligations by managing and mitigating risk. You will play an important role in undertaking conflict checks and associated client inception work supporting the firm's global operation, including but not limited to, managing the terms and matter specifications we hold with clients and producing risk analysis on any publications the firm writes.
THE TEAM
• The Onboarding team forms part of the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) Directorate and is based across the Firm's Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dubai offices.
• The team delivers high quality advice/guidance to the Firm across all aspects of conflict checking, filtering and identifying legal, commercial and contractual conflict issues including research, investigation and advice in accordance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority ('SRA') Code of Conduct. The team also deals with general client and matter inception queries which includes the implementation of Information Barriers, some elements of matter management and engagement letter processing. The team works closely with the Conflicts Advisory Team and the Firm's Professional Risk Advisory Committee (PRAC), Conflicts Partner and Conflicts Committee.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
Responsibilities include:
• Processing and filtering conflict search results, conducting legal and commercial analysis of potential conflict and confidential information issues. Reporting only key issues to partners, fee earners or the Conflicts Advisory team.
• Analysing confidential records to assess the relevance and supporting the Conflicts Advisory Team in referrals to the Conflicts Committee/Conflicts Partner.
• Liaising with PAs, Fee earners, Partners and OGC in relation to potential issues and general queries.
• Processing all queries received into the team's inbox, including the creation and maintenance of information barriers, processing of extend reports and other ad hoc tasks. Dealing with compliance related queries with supervision.
• Compiling Management Information ('MI') statistics for stakeholders.
• Undertaking project work including, but not exclusively; workflows, monitoring systems and controls.
YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
• Experience of working in risk and compliance within a law firm, accountancy or financial services environment, is preferred but not essential.
• The ability to conduct extensive research, diligently reviewing Conflicts/supporting documentation and critically analyse complex information, identifying key issues, and making informed decisions based on sound judgment.
• The ability to work at pace, managing and prioritising conflicting deadlines. Promptly responding to queries, addressing concerns, and taking the initiative to anticipate additional needs.
• Experience building rapport and trust with stakeholders of all levels to enhance communication with the wider firm and create a supportive and productive work environment.
• A basic Knowledge of the relevant areas of Law and Regulations such as The Money Laundering and Terrorist financing regulations 2019 or equivalent, Proceeds Of Crime Act 2002, UN, UK and US Sanction regimes, as well as the SRA code of conduct 2019.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office software, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Intapp (desirable)
