Associate - Employment
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- We are hiring and are looking for an experienced lawyer to join the ranks, with a combination of contentious and non-contentious employment law experience.
- You will ideally have in the region of 2+ years post-qualifying experience, but we are open minded and welcome applicants with a range of post-qualifying experience (up to MA level); for us it's about getting the right people to join our team.
- Addleshaw Goddard have implemented a flexible, hybrid working model that combines both office-based (3 days per week) and remote work arrangements. This approach allows for a balanced and adaptable work environment. We anticipate that this arrangement will remain in place for the foreseeable future. Occasional travel between our various UK offices may be required to facilitate effective collaboration and teamwork. This role is based in Glasgow.

What to expect in this role
As well as the ability to provide comprehensive day-to-day employment advice on the full range of employment and discrimination law issues, you will be involved in executive exits, industrial relations, business restructuring, business protection, employment tribunal litigation, and corporate and project support work.
There is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivery, client relationship development and the continued expansion of the team and practice, which will provide clear career progression opportunities at a pivotal stage in your career.
You will work with some for the UK's largest employers, in Scotland and England & Wales. Experience of business immigration and tribunal advocacy will be an advantage, but not essential.

- Supporting the partners and lead key workstreams on mandates. You would be both positively encouraged and expected to participate fully in business development activities, with a view to supporting the future growth and development of new and existing client relationships.
- Providing supervision and training to more junior members of the team, including trainees and paralegals.
your areas of knowledge and expertise
- You are an Associate (2 years+ PQE) - qualified lawyer.
- You want to join an award-winning practice that has great breadth and variety and want to expand your knowledge and skillset and develop your career.
- Solid technical understanding of employment law, excellent drafting, and communication skills, and demonstrate a commercial and practical approach to problem-solving.
- Be a team player, motivated and keen to progress to more senior roles within AG.
- Be ambitious and want to help grow the international practice and take an active role in core initiatives in the firm.
- Have enthusiasm for intellectually challenging work, are ambitious and confident to deliver at the highest standard.
- Take time to fully appreciate clients' needs and priorities ensuring their advice is meaningful, tailored, commercial and delivered with a solutions-orientated and enabling mindset.
- Have a commercial flair and acumen and are excited by growth and new ideas.
- Are details focussed, self-motivated and proactive, and confident in building enduring relationships with clients that are based on trust and high-quality service delivery.
