Restructuring Associate 1PQE+
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- As an Associate within our growing Restructuring team, you will work directly with a partner on the most innovative financing transactions acting for market leading clients investing in the most exciting cutting edge high growth companies.
- This hire is a response to increasing demand from our diverse and expanding client base and to support the firm's wider ambition to build one of the UK's most dynamic and future-focused Finance practices – integrating sector expertise with deep technical skill and a commercial mindset.
THE TEAM
- Our Restructuring team has enviable positions on all the major bank panels and benefits from excellent relationships with the restructuring and insolvency specialists at the market's leading accountancy firms and agents.
- With established Restructuring teams across the UK, the national team has 11 Partners and more than 31 specialist restructuring and insolvency lawyers. This dedicated resource (which few of our competitors can genuinely match) offers a full service across the entire spectrum of restructuring and insolvency assignments - in a broad range of sectors.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS ROLE
- The practice focuses on advising lenders and borrowers in a variety of innovative finance transaction, including advising on multi-jurisdictional venture and growth debt transactions in the tech and life sciences sector as well as guiding stakeholders through financial difficulty implementing cutting-edge cross-border special situations and restructuring transactions.
- You will receive hands on experience dealing directly with clients, drafting documents and negotiating with opposing counsel. The role will not only challenge your legal skills, but it will also provide you with the opportunity to develop client relationships and to contribute to the success of this exciting innovative practice.

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
To be successful in this role:
- Based in our London office, you are a UK-qualified solicitor with 1-4 years PQE and a strong legal background focussed on restructuring and insolvency law with experience of advising in relation to debt transactions (acting for financial institutions would be preferrable).
- Advising on out of court restructuring and work-out transactions including, amend and extends, emergency funding and consensual debt for equity swaps;
- Providing advice in relation to other restructuring tools and procedures including the use of insolvency processes, schemes of arrangements and/or restructuring plans; and
- Analysing the capital structure of organisations and providing strategic investment advice to financial institutions with respect to the implementation of their investment strategy.
- You have plenty of drive and enthusiasm to provide the highest standard of client service.
- With excellent people skills, you are a high-quality communicator and team player, with a flair for developing relationships.
- You are commercially astute and want to learn and develop as a first-class lawyer.
