Leveraged Finance - Managing Associate - 5+ PQE
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
• As part of our on-going growth strategy, we are looking for a Managing Associate to join our expanding Leveraged Finance Team in London.
• Advising clients on a variety of transactions, with a particular focus on leveraged and acquisition finance. You will work in a collegiate and supportive environment and can expect a good variety of work and high quality of training.
• Developing relationships with clients including gaining a good knowledge of the client's businesses, economic drivers, market and sector requirements in order to ensure advice is relevant and commercial.
• Engaging in business development activities and being active in the promotion of the firm and seeking opportunities for new work.
• Working as part of a team including assisting with the supervision of junior lawyers' work, and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience with the team.
• There are opportunities for secondments with clients.
• The team is one of the most active teams in the mid-market leveraged finance space and is looking to expand due to client demand.
THE TEAM
• This role will be primarily working with leveraged finance loan partners, Alex Dumphy and Ewen Scott in London and will involve collaboration with Private Equity team and their clients as well.
• We advise banks, private credit funds and other lenders, sponsors and portfolio companies on all aspects of financing transactions – from origination, negotiation and documentation to closing. As a firm, we are noted for our expertise in leveraged and acquisition finance, especially advising on bespoke complex transactions.
• High quality of work with the principal players in the market. We have remained extremely active over the last few years acting on leading transactions.

YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
To be successful in this role, what are the:
o Essentials
• Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years' experience in leveraged finance and leading on private equity-backed transactions
• Experience acting on UK and or European mid-market financings
• Familiarity with managing transactions, in particular facility agreements, term sheets, commitment papers and intercreditor arrangements on leveraged finance transactions.
• Experience / skills commensurate with PQE level
• Excellent written communication and drafting skills
• Ability to work independently
• Initiative and proactivity
• Maturity, confidence and dedication
• Strong service orientation - a "client first" culture
• Ability to work well and collegially in a team
• Commerciality and demonstrable business development experience
