Legal Explorer Programme
ADDLESHAW GODDARD LLP IS NOW INVITING YEAR 12 AND S5 STUDENTS TO APPLY FOR THE LEGAL EXPLORER PROGRAMME, A YEAR-LONG SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITY.
WHAT IS THE LEGAL EXPLORER PROGRAMME?
Addleshaw Goddard is looking for hard-working and ambitious students to join us on our year-long innovative enhanced work experience opportunity. As a Legal Explorer, you'll receive a laptop, mentor for the year and take part in workshops and work shadowing to set you up for future success.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAMME?
- A laptop help take part in online sessions and support your own studies.
- Online workshops giving you an insight into Addleshaw Goddard and develop your skills for a future career.
- A mentor to provide advice and support throughout your time with us.
- A week of paid work experience in one of our offices in the summer.
- Opportunities to network with Addleshaw Goddard colleagues and learn more about the different roles available to you
WHAT ARE THE APPLICATION CRITERIA?
This opportunity is designed to support young people from less privileged backgrounds in association with the PRIME Commitment. As such, students must meet the following criteria:
- You must either be in year 12 England or S5 in Scotland in the 2025/2026 academic year.
- You're attending, and have always attended a state-funded, non-fee-paying school/college.
- You must be within travelling distance of an Addleshaw Goddard offices in either Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Leeds, London or Manchester. Travel expenses for in person activities are covered within reason.
And one of the following:
- You grew up in a household where no parent or guardian attended University.
- You are currently in receipt of, or have previously received, free school meals, Pupil Premium, Education Maintenance Allowance and/or 16 to 19 Bursary.
- You have been, or are currently, in local authority care.
- You are, or have been, a full-time or part-time carer.
- You came to the UK as a refugee or asylum seeker.
- The occupation of your main household earner is categorised as a routine or manual occupation. A summary of this can be found here.
- You are attending a state school or college with:
A) below average A-Level or Higher point score
and/or
B) Low rate of progression to higher education. More details on this are here.
Please note you need to be able to commit to all dates in your relevant location listed here. Please check before applying. Occasional travel to other offices may be required and optional ad hoc opportunities may be organised at a later date.
HOW DO I APPLY?
- Please register as a new user and submit your application by the deadline below.
- Each of the questions has a 2000 character limit as standard.
- Competition is high so we would recommend taking care with your application. Please ensure you have proof read your answers before submitting. While you can use AI to support creating your responses, we want to hear about you – not what you think we want to hear!
- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and if your application proceeds to the next stage, you will have a 10 minute phone call with a member of the team to discuss your application and interest in the programme.
