Cooperative Programme Intern

Purpose of The Role

  • The Cooperative Training Programme in the Corporate Law team offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a legal environment. Interns will work alongside experienced legal professionals, assisting with a variety of corporate legal matters, including transactions, compliance, and regulatory work. The programme is designed to bridge academic learning with practical application in a professional setting.

The Team

  • Addleshaw Goddard is a leading international law firm which has established itself as a pre-eminent law firm in the region over the past 10 years.
  • AG Riyadh is our 4th office in the MENA Region, and 17th overall. The practice offers expertise in corporate, banking and finance and infrastructure assignments and has broad sector expertise in energy, oil and gas, renewables, infrastructure, transport, technology, hospitality, manufacturing and consumer goods which aligns closely with KSA Vision 2030.
  • You will be part of a full office of Partners, Associates, Trainees and Support staff, with a culture which celebrates and encourages teamwork, collaboration, imagination, and impact.

What to Expect in This Role

As a Cooperative trainee working primarily with our Corporate partners, you can expect to be involved in the following;

  • Assist the Corporate Law team with drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents, contracts, and agreements
  • Conduct legal research on corporate law matters, including regulatory requirements and compliance issues in Saudi Arabia
  • Support the team in preparing for client meetings and presentations
  • Maintain accurate and organised records of legal files and documents
  • Monitor updates in laws and regulations relevant to corporate law and provide summaries to the team
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on ongoing cases and projects
  • Adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive legal information

Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise

  • Currently enrolled in a university or college, pursuing a degree in Law.
  • Meet the requirements for cooperative training as per the university's guidelines
  • You enjoy being client-facing and have enthusiasm for intellectually challenging work, are ambitious and confident to deliver at the highest standard.
  • Have a commercial flair and acumen and are excited by growth and new ideas.
  • Are details focussed, self-motivated and proactive, and confident in building enduring relationships with clients that are based on trust and high-quality service delivery.
  • You are enjoy and are motivated by working closely with others within a team.
  • A professional proficiency in English and Arabic (written, spoken and reading).
