Job Description
Business Development Coordinator - Groups - Leeds
A BRILLIANT OPPORTUNITY... INTRODUCING ADDLESHAW GODDARD
Addleshaw Goddard is a premium, international business law firm. Our lawyers help many of the world's best known brands – including 50+ FTSE100 companies – to defend their rights, protect their interests and to make the most of business opportunities. We operate from 21 offices in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and focus heavily on industry sectors such as retail & consumer, transport, real estate and financial services.
The Business Development team is a centralised function advising and supporting the Firm in its marketing, sales support and business development activities in line with the AG2030 Strategy. The key drivers for the team are to ensure we support the development and implementation of the firm's strategy and in particular help:
- Drive profitable revenue growth across our key client programme, practice teams and sectors
- Develop and deliver a clear brand proposition through our sector, City and international focus
THE ROLE
Growth is central to Addleshaw Goddard's strategy, and the firm is committed to delivering a high-quality, seamless and consistent service to clients wherever they need us. As the firm continues to grow and our teams pursue ambitious targets, the Business Development function plays an increasingly important role in supporting teams and fee earners across the business to help them achieve their strategic objectives. This requires us to remain agile, responsive and closely aligned to the evolving needs of our practice teams.
We are looking for a Business Development Co-ordinator to support the four Group BD teams with a broad range of day-to-day activity across multiple practice teams. The role will involve helping to deliver tasks arising from practice team plans, strategic initiatives, campaigns and events, as well as maintaining accurate and up-to-date content across a range of systems. The successful candidate will also help to ensure these tasks and updates are effectively managed and delivered in line with agreed deadlines.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to make a meaningful contribution, support team objectives and play a part in delivering the firm's growth ambitions.
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual with a practical, hands-on approach and a strong focus on delivering tasks efficiently and to a high standard. The successful candidate will bring excellent organisational skills, a positive attitude and a willingness to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and high-performing team.
DUTIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the development and execution of credentials and marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, and presentations across all practice teams.
- Working with the BD Group teams and practice teams to ensure content on our central creds and content repository (Foundation) is kept up to date and accurate.
- Support on the production and delivery of bids and tenders for new business opportunities. Previous pitching experience is preferred but not mandatory – thorough training can be provided.
- Managing, monitoring and measuring business development activity accurately and regularly so we can report on success, learnings and ROI.
- Using our CRM system, InterAction, to assist with enquiries and support engagement activities.
- Using Vuture to provide e-marketing support for events and publications (setting up invite lists through to creating and managing the full invite process with support from our Events team).
- Support on events organisation, coordination and management for the events run by the practice teams such as seminars, webinars and conferences.
- Providing support to partners and other fee-earners in relation to individual client meetings. This may include working alongside the Bids team to produce any pitch related documentation such as capability statements.
- Support with market research on business opportunities, trends, and competitor analysis.
- Being an ambassador for our technology platforms, specifically InterAction and Foundation, to ensure their use is optimised across the practice teams to support BD activities and opportunities.
- Input into our practice team pages on the BD Hub on the Firm's intranet – ensuring content is kept up-to-date and is categorised correctly to ensure it is searchable and easy to find.
- Supporting with the ongoing BAU tasks that we receive within Groups, including time sensitive requests.
- Supporting with other administrative tasks that arise from activities across Groups.
- Taking responsibility for learning about the Groups, what work we do, and taking steps to build your personal network within the Groups and across our wider BD and marketing Directorate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- A self-starter with the ability to use your initiative to get the job done and have a high performing attitude and mindset in everything you do.
- Highly organised and able to handle multiple concurrent projects and ensure completion against tight deadlines. We operate in highly competitive markets, and so you must be able to operate at a high quality in demanding situations.
- Have a strong customer-services ethos.
- Be an effective communicator and a team player.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills, with rigorous attention to detail, as this is essential to this role.
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility, relationships and trust with partners, and be comfortable engaging with people at all levels.
- Willing to learn from others, share their ideas, and has a passion for improving client experience and is determined to succeed.
- We work hard, but love what we do and like to have fun in our team. If you feel that way too, we'd love to meet you.
