Job Description
2026 Placement Scheme / 2028 Training Contract - London
Who are we looking for?
There is no Addleshaw Goddard type. We are looking for authentic personalities who are aspiring, confident and committed to becoming great lawyers.
We want people who want to learn alongside the best in the profession, bringing their energy and passion to our team and our clients.
Candidates who are within their penultimate year of a law degree or final year of a non-law degree, or beyond, and are on track for or have graduated with a 2:1 or above are eligible to apply. Please note that we consider applications from those who have received a 2:2 with mitigating circumstances.
What can you expect?
This is a scheme as unique as you are. As well as informative sessions, group exercises, assessed work and plenty of time at your desk, you will attend social events with a range of people across the office. It's a real chance to get to know our people and our culture. Successful candidates will then go on to be offered a training contract with the firm.
Training Contract
We offer a wide range of seats within these groups across our offices. If you are offered a training contract with us following a successful placement scheme, your two-year training contract will cover four six-month seats in:
- Corporate & Commercial
- Disputes
- Finance & Projects
- Real Estate
You'll receive training that's tailored to your needs and interests while gaining a first-hand insight into life at one of the UK's most respected law firms. You will be supported by some of our brightest minds and challenged with meaningful work, helping you develop the connections and skills you need to become a trusted lawyer.
International Applicants and Sponsorship
We welcome applications from candidates from all locations and do not make recruitment decisions based on an applicant's current location. However, please note that this Placement Scheme/Training Contract role may not meet the Home Office requirements for a Skilled Worker visa. Therefore, we may not be able to sponsor visas for these roles at the point of hire. If, at the point of hire, we are unable to sponsor you, but you have already undertaken further education studies funded by Addleshaw Goddard, (e.g. Diploma or SQE course and maintenance fees) you will be required to repay the amount to the firm. More information can be found on gov.uk regarding this. If you have specific queries regarding your current circumstances please get in touch by emailing earlycareers@addleshawgoddard.com.
Other Information
Application window: 1st October 2025 – 12pm, midday 6th January 2026. Please note that both the online registration form and the critical thinking test must be completed by the deadline.
Please note that we accept one application per intake year. Therefore you can only apply for one location so please ensure you have decided where you would like to be based before applying.
If for any reason after applying you would no longer like to be considered for this opportunity, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing earlycareers@addleshawgoddard.com to withdraw from the process.
